What customers say about the Avenir Universal XL Rear Rack
There were many positive reviews which are paraphrased here. Many reviewers commented that tis rack is strong, light, easy to install, it’s not an eyesore and easily carries the weight I have asked it to. The 3 supports make for a strong rack.
Reviewers liked the flexible design which means it most likely fits most bikes. You can easily strap things on top or panniers on the sides.
Also reviewers thought this rack looks great One cyclist stated the matte black finish survived a rather gravelly, gritty five day ride without scratches.
Reviewers were divided on installation. One reviewer said I needed a rack to mount panniers and picked this one more or less by guess. Another person stated it is easy to mount (at least on my Trek hybrid) with clear directions. I am impressed with this bike rack, its very sturdy, it does not sit too high, and it is easy to install. Some people did have issues depending on their bicycle
Another reviewer was a little nervous about mounting to a mountain bike. With the extra clamps that came with it I was able to reach the frame at a perfect angle to secure the rack. One reviewer remarked in order to install any rack and fenders on a bike with disc brakes, you need to be pretty creative anyways.
